1.1 The races will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.
2.1 The event is open to all keel boats with a current SLVYRA handicap. If a boat does not have a handicap, the Race Committee (RC) may assign a provisional handicap at its discretion. Provisional handicaps will not be challenged by a competitor.
2.2 Competitors shall register in person on the veranda before 1815h on Fridays when boats will be given their start time based on handicap. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Race Committee.
2.3 Prior to the warning signal, boats must identify themselves by sailing on starboard tack past the stern of the Race Committee (RC) boat and hailing their class and sail number.
2.4 No spinnakers are allowed. This is a white sail series.
3. NOTICES TO COMPETITORS
3.1 Notices to Competitors will be posted on the official notice board of the club.
4. CHANGES TO SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 Any change to the Sailing Instructions will be posted on the official notice board of the club before 0830h on the day it will take effect, except that any change to the schedule will be posted before 2000h on the day before it will take effect.
5. SIGNALS MADE ASHORE
5.1 Signals made ashore will be displayed on the flag pole of the club.
5.2 When flag AP is displayed ashore,’1 minute’ is replaced with ‘not less than 30 minutes’ in the race signal AP.
6. RACING AREA
6.1 The racing will take place in one racing area approximately 0.75 nautical miles south to southwest of PCYC.
7. THE COURSE
7.1 The course will consist of two circuits around a triangle. All marks will be left to port.
8.1 Inflatable marks will be used for marks 1, 2 and the Pin.
9. THE START
9.1 The starting line will be between the mast of the RC boat displaying a Race Committee flag at the starboard end of the line and the starting mark (red ball) at the port end.
9.2 A boat shall not start later than 10 minutes after her starting time.

10.1 Individual Recall. One sound signal and code flag “X” will be displayed in accordance with rule 29.1.
11. SHORTENING COURSE
11.1 After the starting signal the RC may shorten the course (Code flag "S").
12. THE FINISH
12.1 The finish line will be between a staff displaying a blue flag on an RC boat and the finish mark (red ball) on the starboard end of the line.
13. TIME LIMIT
13.1 The time limit for boats to finish will be 30 minutes after the first boat finishes. Boats not finishing within the time limit will be scored as Did Not Finish. This modifies Rule 35 and A4.
14.1 Protests forms are available at the club offices. Protests shall be delivered there within 60 minutes of the time the RC boat docks after racing is completed for the day.
15.1 Boats retiring should not cross the finish line; however, they must report their withdrawal either to the RC or by telephoning the club immediately upon reaching shore. Failure to do so may result in their disqualification.
